Sparkle/Blood Scream Comics has been releasing comics in and around Dayton, OH for a few years now. With their popularity rising, they’ve gone from online only to local comic shop regulars. I’ve worked with them from the beginning, mostly doing cover work.
“The Book of…Whoa” was my first full length comic I did for them for their first annual “Trilogy of Terror”. Every year since, they’ve released three special comics around Halloween to help get everyone in the holiday spirits.
As I worked through the first issue, I soon realized it was going to be a labor of love. Writing, developing characters, inking, and coloring the full issue was an off and on 4 month process. In the end, I had a 30 page comic, complete with pin-ups, an advice column, and ads paying tribute to the olden comic book days.
